Configure Benefit Split

Before configuring Benefit Split, complete the preliminary steps of establishing the fund allocation structure, configuring the FundScreen, configuring funds and associating those funds and plans with the Fund screen.

Refer to the Benefit Split Prototype to see an example of all configuration described below.

Steps to Configure Benefit Split

  1. In the Global Explorer tab of the Rules Palette, navigate to the Calculate rule folder and right-click the CalculateGeneralBenefitSplit rule.

  2. Select New Calculate General Benefit Split Override.

  3. Click Next.
  4. Type the Company, Plan and State on the plan override window and click Finish.

  5. Create the SegmentName rule for Benefit Split. This segment will point to the Calculate General rule that was configured in the previous step and include any dynamic fields that may be required by business processes.
  6. Create transactions. Benefit Split functionality can be accomplished using transactions (activities). Configure the Assignment Types that will be needed inside the transaction XML.There should be at least two transactions created; a payout transaction and a spawned disbursement. Additional transactions can be created to support other business needs for annuitization. Transaction elements are discussed in more detail in the section below.
  7. Add Attached business rules.
